Hello, happy Sunday!
I hope you all are having a lovely weekend. Mine is going pretty well, not much of my usual sewing happening since my Juki stopped working a few days ago and I had to take it to the "machine doctor" :( No fun at all!

I can't complain much, though. Not having the machine means that I have all this time to work on hand quilting my Single Girl .
It's a slow, but pretty relaxing process, so no complaints here. My least favorite part, I must say, is marking the quilting lines which I find extremely boring and tedious (I'm using a blue marker that disappears once it gets wet - it works well, I tried it already).
Oh, I'm so loving these chunky stitches.
I don't use any frames or hoops when quilting. I tried, but it did not work for me. I just find myself a nice comfy spot on the sofa, hold the quilt firmly with my left hand, and quilt.

As you can see, I'm quite enjoying myself.
Wishing you all a wonderful rest of the weekend. Svetlana

ReplyDeleteit's so lovely! I hated marking the lines on my single girl too, but it was so worth it in the end!
ReplyDeleteBig smile on my face here, too. Love the photo of you on the couch and doing handquilting. :) What a joy that you have joy doing so. Makes me wonder whether I'll quilt my single girl by hand or machine once it's done (which won't happen soon, but one can dream).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I have always wanted to do a single girl but now I really want to. Maybe when I finish my sons quilt I will.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to spend some time on a winter weekend! Love the picture :)
ReplyDeleteI love how that hand quilting looks on your Single Girl. I've just finished cutting out all my templates for mine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration :)
Beautiful! I never knew how big the the circles were on that quilt until seeing your happy pic!
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to hand quilt something and have yet to brave the process. How did you pin it all together?
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I want to try perle cotton for hand quilting. I see in an earlier picture that you are using DMC floss? How is that working for you? Your quilt is gorgeous and your stitches are so nice. I need to practice before I go big in that perle cotton where everybody can see the stitches! LOL
ReplyDeleteOh, your Single Girl looks amazing! Loving those hand stitches.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to enjoy a Sunday. I'm so inspired to do some handstitching. The quilt is beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh that looks beautiful! I love handquilting too. I dont use ahoop either. It seems more manageable!
